A quick tool to make for rod building is a thread puller. At the end of a guide wrap a thread puller is used to pull the loose thread back under the wrap.
I’ve made and used all kinds of thread pullers; made from wire or line. The one that has lasted the longest is made with 14 lb BRAIDED fishing line and a bead.
Super fast to make, thread a loop of 6 inches of braided line through a bead. (a button or similar item will work) then tie two over hand knots around the bead. Trim the ends and BAM!
